Green Blueberry Shake

Hope you all had an amazing weekend! I can't lie, I'm a little bit jelly of all of you who got to spend it next to your special lady this Mother's Day... For those of you that don't know, my mommy is miles and miles away from me in my home country, Brazil. Even though I truly miss her, I tried my best to be present via Skype and text messages (what a world we live in huh... Lol).

Well, I still got to spend it with some woman I love, my aunties who are very special to me as well. And if you're anything like me you might have enjoyed one or two cocktails, or maybe a glass of your favorite wine in celebration of such a beautiful day that this weekend was all about. And let's not get started on the food (#NOMNOM, right?!), hard to say no to all the yummiest out there.

But now it's Monday and the guilt takes over...

...but fear not! Today I am going to share with you one of my favorite go to "detox"-slash-"post workout" shakes, which helps me get excited to both workout and clean out my system from anything I might have indulged in which isn't healthy for my body.

Let me begin by stating that usually I like to make real food after I workout, I might have a pocket protein (pocketprotein.com) right after then I'll go steaming and I cook my food right after (I will have a post on my daily workout routine soon). But I keep a list of my favorite go-to shakes for days like this (which I am either busy or lazy, or both lol).

This one I call the Green Blueberry Egg Protein Detox shake. (I just made that up lol) it's very simple actually... Here are the ingredients:

1. Egg white protein (I used Jay Robb's Egg Protein vanilla flavor, http://www.jayrobb.com) - 1 scoop

2. Spinach - One handful (my handful is usually very very extremely full lol I love spinach!)

3. Parsley - 1/2 handful

4. Blueberry - handful or 1/2 handful (I love blueberry so I always use a handful, but if you're worried about your sugar intake you can always do less)

5. Ginger - (this is my favorite ingredient for detoxifying the body) - 1/2 of a full root (totally up to taste, the more the better benefits you have for your digestive system.)

5. Coconut milk - 1/2 cup or more if you want (I would usually do 1 cup, but I was too lazy to open a new bottle and so only used what I had lol but this is totally up to your taste.)

6. Ice - as little or as much as you want (the more ice the less liquidy and more frappe-like it'll be, the less ice the more liquidy and more like a milkshake it'll be)

7. I like to add a little water since I only had 1/2 cup of coconut milk... Otherwise it would be too thick. :"

Throw it all in a blender and... Voila!!! :")
Let me know if you guys have any questions or any suggestions!!! I'll be doing a post soon on some other shakes that I love.

Remember though, it's all about creativity and thinking outside of the box... Sometimes mixing fruit or vegetables that you don't enjoy eating by itself might help you find all kinds of new ways to eat your veggies... And do that detox you've always been wanting to do but never have time for. 😉💋✨

Much love,

Camila Nakagawa
